i have it on good authority that it will be a little bit more than that, but with an early bird discount for those who jump quickly.

I think any jumping was done about 12 months ago, now there will be not much jumping.

R30k is not going to attract many international entrants, may make it more exciting for local riders battling it out.

I think a lot of the attraction will be to have done the first one. If it becomes a big thing, it could be real bragging rights - but you're right, i don't think we'll see too many overseas guys coming, and if they do some of it could be to escape the winter.

No more R1 000 000 prize money?

That was THE THING of the Munga

.

With the Rand today at R20  to the pound. . .  R30k  might not draw the big guns.

there's some movement happening behind the scenes:

So, as we get closer to opening up registrations, I can tell you some exciting news! Exxaro have come on board as our prize money sponsor. They are putting up R150 000 to be split up as follows: R50 000 each for three categories, Male, Female and Development. So, the first male gets R30 000. The second male gets R15 000 and the third male gets R5000. The same for the first three females and the same for the first three development riders. Thank you Exxaro! The ball is rolling..

I'm still developing as a cyclist and only started 21 years ago, do I qualify as a development cyclist?
