Hakahana is one of my favorite places! Unfortunately / fortunately I'll miss this race. I'll be on an island with the wife for her 40th :-)

40km at hakahana (black & red routes) feels like a proper 50 to 60km ride :-)

Worked for me, that site does look extremely finicky. Hope they resolve it soon. Good luck

Last year it was in the beginning of October. It was close as hell to 40 deg.

I was at Hakahana at 7h00 yesterday morning to ride. It was -5 deg. Those first 8 km's were ice cold. My fingers were turning blue. At 30 km/ hr it feels like - 15.

You must go ride at Hakahana before the race to get a feel for it. That place flows nicely.

The only thing that doesn't flow nicely is Rhinkals. That thing spits me out time and time again.

I will keep on going at it. Rhinkals is a mind game.

Dis the 70 last year as my first 70km ever... felt like it never ended.... serius climbing , lots of teqn downhills like the bunnychow section...would like to see someone ride it , i ended.up in a thorn bush halfway down it with a severely bruised ego... in my mind one of the top 3 hardest races the others being the monster and van gaalen... good luck all riders for some unknown reason im going to enter once again ...want dis mos leker man lekker!

The guy I ride with rides those down hills like there is no tomorrow. He is fearless.

When the good Lord handed out skills and those types of things my riding partner missed the fear draws.

I always say to him brandewyn het nie brieke nie.
