Yay! Racing against Milky AND Copperhead! I'm gonna come third. Jokes boys, I'm putting the man up against you. Might be hungover...sleeping at Le Franschhoek and having dinner at Reuben Riffel's new spot on Sat night.

On a serious note...I was super pissed off at Geddan last year for effectively lying to me just before the start when I asked him re water points. I could have taken an extra bottle and I didn't. Our entries didnt get lost though. Weather looks safe to do pre-entry I guess...depends how much rain falls on Sat night

Hi Johny BravoI will admit to the water point undersight; I can confirm that we will definitely have a water point this year, at the last route split between the Long & Medium routes. As for your other complaints:* Number boards & zip ties: we ran out simply because we had much more entries than expected; we had catered for 600, but there were 900+ on the day* Entrants: you could not just ride without entering; this was pure speculation on your part* Traffic: entirely not our fault, they simply did not pitch, after having spoken to them 3 days before the event to confirm; we met with them last week and yesterday, they will definitely be in place for 2014* Tar roads: as route director, these sections were put in specifically for riders to have some recovery (breather) sections; there is enough technical sections to balance off the easier sections; it is also what makes the event uniqueLast but not least, I would like to point out that we have done tnbis event for the last 3 years without a sponsor. The event expenses are carried entirely by the organiser. Yet we still make sure that there are medals for finishers, emergency services in place, as well as timing. All at a very reasonable entry fee!So the ball is in your court as to whether you intend to ride this year or not...

I give you my word, there are medals for all finishers (1000 in total, which is our entry limit)

Goodie bags for the first 200 Pre entries is also a definite!

And yes there are also Luck draws (mainly wine)

And Prize money of R1000 in total has already been allocated.

haha no worries I stopped collecting medals in 1994, what would be awesome to consider for next year is if we had the option to decline medal in exchange for a cheaper entry fee.

Race is on. Thousand buck wager????? :whistling:

Was not a lie, I just 'twisted the truth' (as they say), told everyone in the briefing that the mountain water was safe to drink (ha ha), But seriously, I promise there is a water table this year, will have both coke & water (at the last route split between the 45km & 32km (Glenwood wine farm)...

Me too. I do not even take medals from the ladies anymore.

Problem is, if you do not have medals, people will be unhappy; if you do have medals, there will be those that have enough in their closet already (as I tend to do with mine), so it's a catch 22..!
