Gym vs. Cross fit advice

I think having a physio at the box, or if the coach was a physio him/herself, would be a brilliant addition.

It is amazing how much pain we accept before we get to the point of seeing someone about it.

As for burpees, yeah, I can imagine. Planks too, initially my wife couldn't hold 5 counts because it hurt.

We have a Biokeneticist at the Box once a week and Massage therapist + Chiropractor training there on a permanent basis.

How do you know someone is doing crossfit - they will tell you.

It's part of it - like being vegan.

well, it could be worse... they could drive a Land Rover and trade Bitcoin as well

Work load has stopped myself and my girlfriend going to CrossFit.

I have an old shoulder injury and they scaled the excercises and swapped them out for others so that I could work on building the strength and getting it balanced.  Truly incredible, and after a few months off CrossFit - I really do feel how much it added to my basic condition, but also how it helped my riding.  The additional little bit of muscle, and flexibility for crashing on the MTB was also great.

Hoping work calms down and we can go again.   I would rather chop my privates off than go to a gym, but the atmosphere, people and varied programme of a CrossFit class is great.  I get why the gym people hate on it - it truly is just so much better.

I have recently been seeing a Biokineticist for weekly one on one triathlon specific functional strength sessions and I also do a lighter session once a week at home. from what I see at the gym my exercises are similar what the cross fit crowd are up to. The results so far have exceeded my expectations but unfortunately I can't afford to continue.

It would be great if there were Cross fit type sessions that were more sports specific. If I could find an affordable group session which was based around cycling I'd be there in a flash.
