One can dress appropriately for the cold, but please, no rain!

 

Speaking of cold, I have no idea what to expect.

Exactly how cold are we talking, and how should one dress on the bike?

I imagine that armies and a light gilet wont be enough. Will toe/shoe covers, good gloves and a warm top suffice or does one need full length leggings as well?

 

And then if/when it warms up during the day, what do you do with all your kit?

i wore short sleeve and normal bibs( then again i am well insulated) most of the riders go full arctic only to remove everything at the first water point and put it in a box, then you collect it when that vehicle eventually comes in at night ,,, not worth it, 

then again as i said the cold does not bother a seal

it seems the mornings are not going to be as cold as usual at this time of the year, in the past its chilly in the morning but warms through the day, the temp. are more moderate to warm than moderate to cold now, hopefully this cold front will change that to chilly mornings and light drizzle throughout the day will make me very happy

Read somewhere that the mornings are close to zero degrees. That is very cold for us CPT folk! Will just have to deal with the weather next week.
