Makes sense, but how do I go about this now?

 

The caliper will be standing in the air if I put anything underneath it.

 

Ask your LBS, they should have half a million lying around. Those washers aren't just there to raise the caliper, they also sort out the alignment, that's why they're so oddly shaped.

 

Either that or someone just thought the shape is cool.

Check and see if you have a washers between the bolt head and brake calliper?

 

In the picture the little conical washer has a small plain flat washer on top and this is the one I'm referring too.

change the bracket, is also not expensive

 

Will go around tomorrow to get this sorted, thanks chaps.

Doesn't work....

 

Anyway, in your previous picture there were two black/greyish washers that's not in your new picture.

 

You need those.

Easiest is just copy paste.

 

Photo below. The grey bushes allow you to tighten the caliper with it centered, otherwise you would need everything to align 100% which it never would.
