Watched 'Lion'

What a tear jerker

Watched Lion last night. What an incredible story! Really enjoyed it. Somebody was definitely cutting onions close by.

Tears in the Rain - a locally shot short film - has picked up one of the major awards from the SciFi Underground Film Fest which took place in Munich recently. The 11-minute film - a stylistic homage to the 1982 Ridley Scott classic film Blade Runner - received the Best Acting Award for the two cast members - Sean Cameron Michael and Russel Savadier.

Very cool feature on Google Earth at the moment that has Saroo's Journey, called "Finding Home"

Arrival

Fences

Hacksaw Ridge

Hell or High Water

Hidden Figures

La La Land

Lion

Manchester by the Sea

Moonlight

Saw 'Arrival' last night and it f**king blew me away. Truly captivating, edge of my seat Sci-fi intrigue. That being said, 'Hacksaw Ridge' is still my front runner for Best Picture this year. Will knock another two off the list this weekend. Gotta love Ster Kinekor Nouveau screenings.

Add The Accountant to that list.

Saw it this past weekend, and was truly surprised by the substance of the movie. I must also add that I have always been a fan of J. K. Simmons's acting. He just has this way to carry a script with his acting. If you like his acting, also make a point of checking Whiplash out.
