Funny enough i eat all the stuff that you exempted yourself from, while I’m not pooh paah’ing the whole concept what I really would like to know as someone who grew up eating all the simple carbs stuff like cereal, oats, breads, potato, pasta, wheat, sweets etc…. did i mention i'm a massive chocolate lover.....

What the hell do you have for breakfast every day, I’m asking about breakfast mainly because its usually the most time crunched meal of the day i.e. less time to faf around cooking stuff and much easier to eat out of the box…

There are some great carb free muesli recipes around. Using seeds and nuts and stuff. I use that when in a rush, usually with yoghurt. Standard breakfast is poached eggs with spinach

I am 1.73m and weighing 93kg. Black guy not the best cyclist around but working hard to improve my times. My lipids are within normal range but am hypertensive on co- diovan. Ho does one balance high protein high fat diet with reduced sodium intake which will drive my blood pressure up. Do the same diets like the Tim.Noakes one work on black people as little research is done based on us?

I think your weight is the problem with your blood pressure. I was around your weight and on medication for blood pressure. Lost 20kg and blood pressure is perfect without meds.

is the tim noakes diet specifically for people who want to lose weight only or for everyone as a healthy eating plan? what if you are not overweight is this diet and eating plan still recommended?

The Effects of a Ketogenic Diet on Exercise Metabolism and Physical Performance in Off-Road Cyclists. http://www.mdpi.com/...43/6/7/2493/htm I you don't want to read the entire study I have paste the Conclusions

It can be concluded that long-term, high fat diets may be favorable for aerobic endurance athletes, during the preparatory season, when a high volume and low to moderate intensity of training loads predominate in the training process. High volume training on a ketogenic diet increases fat metabolism during exercise, reduces body mass and fat content and decreases post exercise muscle damage. Low carbohydrate ketogenic diets decrease the ability to perform high intensity work, due to decreased glycogen muscle stores and the lower activity of glycolytic enzymes, which is evidenced by a lower LA concentration and a maximal work load during the last 15 min of the high intensity stage of the exercise protocol

Lost me completely on cutting out beer....

Beer , potatoes, chocolate.....my Belgian heart could not handle it!Well done Andrew, good share. Altough I reckon going that without beer and chocolate would put me on antidepressants which would probably make me eat more in the long run!
