Make sure you add all the costs when comparing prices. Secondly consider getting SLX and save yourself some money. Thirdly check out easybike.co.za and cwcycles.co.za for prices.

Also try Janos @ Evobikes.

has anyone noticed a great difference btw SLX and XT stopping power. Basically, is XT worth the extra cash ?

SLX and Xt are virtually the same in all respects apart from the Xt's having more adjustments/lighter/better looking, the important parts brake power and levers virtually identical. SLX are the value kings

Looking at that in detail, im luckily avoiding the shipping and and import duties as ill get a family member to bring them with on their next trip.

Then you are in for the 20% UK vat.

Any of you guru's stock or know where to get matchmakers for running the new XT brakes with SRAM X9 shifters?

I see "http://problemsolversbike.com/" has some but would like to get some locally if possible.

I have ridden both XT and SLX, the M785 and M675.As a weekend warrior I can't tell the difference.I currently have the M675's on my DS and must say they have great stopping power.I run 160mm rotors front and back and I am no light weight either. And they stop when they need to.SLX in my opinion best bang for your bucs.

Don't forget the bleed kit and the ferrules at the end in case you need to break apart the hoses to shorten it or take it through the frame. Or just bargain with a bike shop and let them do it all for a good price. Just a thought..... My input would be SLX for function, XT and XTR if you want to add the bling.
