Hey guys.

I am a mountain biker, but is considering buying a road bike for training purposes, and to race road events.

What is the minimum what one should be looking for in an entry level road bike?

Any advice?  I don't want to spend a fortune as well.....

Buy a decent frame with at least Tiagra components.

You could always buy second hand with the better 105 components and a good ali frame with a carbon fork like my Scott that i have for sale!!!Wink

How much you wanna spend???

Preferably not more than 6k.  But I'm not buying now.  Just doing some research, since my taste buds have been prickled with yesterdays argus, which I rode with knobblies!!

Pappabear, beleive me, you will be hooked and spend just as much money on a road bike then you do on you MTB. The parts is sexier and lighter and we all always want the best we can or can not afford.

Yip, for sure.

Walk into a car dealership. Do you have car A? Will my bike fit? Will take it.

Walk into bike shop. Do you have bike A, B, C, D, E? What colour? Does it have a, b, c, d, e? In what colour? Can I have extra 1, 2, 3, 4, 5?
