To me it looks like a crack in the paint from a bump against something. Doesn't look to be in the area that carries the actual load/stress. IMO

The paint crack looks like its due to impact (radiating outwards from a central point).

 

I would definately be worried. Don't think you would have suck a paint crack without damage to the structure.

True, it is the other side of the 'hole' the takes the push and pull stresses. Mmmmm.

If it is just paint crack, is there a way to stop it from spreading?? Clear nail polish it something.

Just take it to LBS and have it checked out. It will give you peace of mind.

 

Take it to an Engineer. Your LBS are not engineers with teh exception of a few...Miss JB, he would have been great for answering that question.
