On a side note, we are looking for the F rider in UCT / Private client kit, he won the prize for making savage hurt the most today, so want to get him his prize. If anyone knows his name would be great, shot.

Hi skistar

I am the lucky winner of your "savage hurt" price!!

You guys were bullets on Sunday.  It would have been a much longer day in the saddle without the work done by the Savage team.  Was especially impressed with the constant pace over the last 40 km.  Had a little dig over that last climb before Stellenbosch but could not shake the Savages.

If you build on this momentum that sub 6 hour DC is on the cards.  Will be looking out for you at the Swellendam finish.

PS - Will PM my details

4:48 out of L, pretty stocked

You did well

I couldn't hang on, so was disappointed to drop off at 140km and lost about 15 mins to my DC team

Awesome!!!!

We will arrange to get the prize to you!!

The others dropped the hammer in the last 40km and I just hung on till the last 10-15km. They turned themselves inside out in the last kick to the line as a lead out for me, just did not have enough in the tank to take the sprint :P

The One Tonner was great our team  started in I, Team Action frames show commitment I think we rotated the majority of the route my head is still spinning :w00t: . Our Captain kept the team well together, we had some guys interfering in our pace line but were sorted them out quickly if you don't work relax at the back Action Frames will take you till the end

The section from Malmesbury was tough our Team stopped at the water point, and we had majority of our slippers waiting for us to do the suffering again.

Well done to all my mates looking forward to our 230+km ride next week.

Regards

.......

We also would have probably sat up a little if we had known he was off the back. He still managed a great 4;50. Think a warm up is essential before a start like that, I know my legs were hurting at the top.

Should maybe wake up a bit earlier and try that warm-up thing.... My opinion of my climbing abilities have definitely down scaled in 2014.

Got dropped from A up helz but our little group of stragglers got picked up by the C-D bus near Wellington, the group thinned out a lot over Bothmaskloof and again the last few kilometers near Stellenbosch but I'm quite chuffed that I managed to hang on till the end, stayed out of the sprint finish as I didn't contribute upfront earlier.

First proper road ride since the Argus, bring on the rest of the roadie season

I hope that those who crashed are well on the way to recovery. Some big ones yesterday. Saw a face planter with 3 okes over him about 15km from Botmaskop. A dropped water bottle was the cause. Looked like his bike took a beating as well. Big up to the Marshalls and all involved. Good to see some good sportmanship amongst the cyclists, whether they were snakes or snails. It was awesome.

Had a decent day and was feeling good for a sub 5 from H, but started dropping off with about 20 to go, still felt like I could make it under 5 though.  Hit a pothole 10km from the end, punctured front and back, tore my rear tyre wall.  Managed to change the front, while waiting for the sweeper, but then got given a lifeline, thanks to the guy who threw me another spare so I could change the back.  Nursed the wheels to just before the end, but ended up having to walk the last km or so, bit of a downer to an otherwise good day.

Not sure of my finishtime, think around 5:20... Will have to use Die Burger to improve my seeding then...

I think this accident may have happened behind us. We were on a tandem at the front of small bunch a few km's before Bothmaskop, and my stoker told me a crash just happened behind us. We had passed another tandem some time before that and thought they also might have been involved. Heard afterwards it may have been a Club100 rider that went down.

Was a great ride for us until the pass. We were sitting on 36.5kph ave at the foot of the pass, then we rode over some glass and punctured right there. 10 min's later back on the road, and then punctured again due to being forced to ride over a cateye (the mind boggles as to how some apparently experienced riders leave their bike behind when getting out the saddle in a bunch  ). This time around we didn't have another spare tube, so begged passing bunches for a spare, which some very generous rider chucked at us from a bunch (a BIG thank you to whoever you may be !!). We were then joined by another rider who stopped to help us, but he probably needed the rest more than anything else. He said he was absolutely stuffed and had run out of water. We gave him what little we had, and then a TB marshall stopped at us to ask if all was ok. We said we could deal with the puncture no problem, but would she be willing to go fill up 2 water bottles and drop them off with us again en-route ? She said no problem and off she went.Puncture fixed and back on the road again with our new ride buddy sitting on our wheel, but 6 km's later another puncture ! Our ride buddy didn't have a spare tube as he was riding tubbies, but a passing casual rider stopped and gave us his spare (another BIG thanks to you too !). The TB marshall found us again on the side of the road, and in between much mutual laughter at our bad luck situation she also parted ways with her packet of Jelly Babies  :D . At this point we were then joined by Hubber Woofie and a few other riders, and we again made our way. By this time we had binned any notions of a good ride result and just kind-of took our time, making much small talk. We decided to stop at the next water table to pump the back wheel up some more, and sample the PPA eats and drinks (thanks PPA). Making our way again we parted ways with Woofie and solo'ed to the finish a few seconds shy of 6 hours. We decided to sprint for the finish to get a sub-6  :D  ... our true ride time would have been around 5H15 according to the bike computer, but it was a good DC training ride nonetheless.

Just checked my results on racetec...it seems I have no gender, I was on a tandem and I also managed to ride twice (2 results under my name!) :)

Have logged a query with racetec as this is messing up my seeding - the one time is over 7 hours!

I managed to finish in 5:43, which is 1:32 faster than last year. :)

Was a hard day in the saddle...need to work on the fitness to stop being dropped by the groups!
