To be real honest, the list of requirements has been looked at and altered...

So we're talking about (looking for) a 29er 27.5 "one bike" that...

  • Has Stealth dropper routing
  • can do long(er) rides with comfort
  • Can rip the trails on weekends (Tokai, Jonkers, etc)
  • Do the odd Enduro and wouldn't mind the occasonal Paarl shuttle
  • Light (Plastic bike of course!)
  • looks like a mofo
  • Does not have an effing "front shock"
  • Is long and low (Reach of 435mm)
  • Bottle mount inside front tri

Preferable:

  • Bottle mount inside front tri
  • 120mm 130mm or more rear travel
  • 69 or slacker head angle around 67 degree, but not stupid slack
  • looks like a mofo

All of this following a couple of epic rides on a Merida.

Interesting to see Giant has gone with a 46mm off set Pike to counter some of the trail that comes with a super slack "trail" bike. Should do wonders to (even further) help the Nomads trail manners.

Yeah, i know. It certainly changed the way my bike behaved. Lyrik = 40mm offset. Marzo = 46mm.

Good to hear. Certainly made a big difference going 51mm off set on my Vipa. Maybe the time has come to own a Giant (again).

Reign advanced?

"The top of the line Reign Advanced Team ($8250)"

"The aluminum version is spec'd similarly, with only a few slight model differences in the brake and drivetrain area, and retails for $5975"

...and only 200g difference in frame weight.

..get them up against the wall!

Your Pink Floyd knowledge astounds and impress me. All these years I've underestimated you! Now I know your education is complete and I can stop worrying about you. (My wink emoticon won't work, so ;-))
