2bliss Posted August 16, 2014 Share Silverback have a splashscreen up to declare that their 2015 site will be available soon. It features a zoomed in teaser shot of a black bike: http://www.silverbacklab.com/ It seems to be a carbon short travel 29er duallie with 1x11 drivetrain, Rockshox RS-1 and Stan's Valor carbon wheelset. 2bliss Posted August 16, 2014 Share Carbon duallie frame + XX1 groupset + $1865 fork + $1900 wheelset = $$$$$$$$$$$$ R80 000 Silverback?
BenReaper Posted August 16, 2014 Share That looks to be a nice bike, and I also like Silverback as they are great value for money bikes. With a carbon dual-sus they are probibly aiming for a higher end market wich they were previously not represented in. Just hope that the RS-1 fork doesnt blow the pricing out of preportion or that they at least offer a model with a cheaper fork.

ChUkKy Posted August 17, 2014 Share Carbon duallie frame + XX1 groupset + $1865 fork + $1900 wheelset = $$$$$$$$$$$$ R80 000 Silverback? The cost of that fork is insane, does look good though. I wonder how good it is compared to a properly setup SID or Reba dual air.
2bliss Posted August 17, 2014 Share The cost of that fork is insane, does look good though. I wonder how good it is compared to a properly setup SID or Reba dual air.For me it would have to be 3x as good as a regular fork to justify the cost and that seems highly unlikely
johanpre44 Posted August 17, 2014 Share Competition for the Momsen Vipa? Think it will be a very nice offering with the lower specs (not that I will be buying a DS any time soon).

Mylolylo Posted August 25, 2014 Share I have always loved Silverback, I ride the storm 1 from a few years back, but I saw the new storm on their facebook page and I think the days of silverback being a good value for money bike might be gone...Stan's Valor, XX1 and the likes are going to make them hellofa expensive... If you wish to go large then you would be dropping big ZAR on any brand bike
