The Sido and Sesta should be arriving soon, we may have a frameset available to see and you can decide on your build kit when prices hit.

One things for sure, Silverback know how to hit a pricepoint with a well specced model!

Cal us at Epic Bike Shop for more info.

Just got back from my LBS. Manager phoned Silverback for me to enquire about a Sesta Race. They told him that the Sesta has been cancelled for SA. Well, at least until August when they will reconsider.

Eish...not a great decision on their part!

Agreed. They are a South African company that was only able to grow through the support of South Africans. Now that they are suddenly all "German" we don't matter enough to get bikes?

Just heard from SB directly...Sesta coming to ZA in 1st half of 2015...

Well then, I don't know why they misinformed Mike (Xtreme Cycles, Klerksdorp). I was standing right there when he phoned them. They even directed him to their website to suggest I look at a Sprada instead.

EDIT: Anyway, good news for those who still have patience left to wait for a Sesta. I am not among those anymore.

Are you sure they actually said that, and that he spoke to them? Wouldn't be the first time an LBS person is talking ***...

Anything is possible, but it would have been rather daft on his part. I walked in, asked to speak to the manager (Mike) and then asked him to place an order for a Sesta Race. Why would he do something that cost him a sale?

dunnno -timeline? It's not the first time I would have heard of someone just saying "No, we don't do this" and not even asking the right people.

If the 'they don't bring em in' was followed by 'but can I interest you in ?' then it may well be the case. I had a similar situation a few years ago with a car purchase. Ended up buying another brand all together only to spot the model I was interested in 6 months later at the said dealer.

As did I! :D And not from the LBS. I don't like being lied to, if that is indeed the case.

Nevertheless, I was tired of waiting for the Sesta. We first saw this bike on their site in August and still no availability?! Strange not to have a new 2015 model on the market by at least the beginning of 2015. Most other companies launch new models in the last quarter of previous year. Come to think of it, so does Silverback with their other bikes. Wonder if they had issues with the design or production?

Also disappointed. Companies launching new bikes August 2014, bikes being available only in 2015. This year probably June launches only coming in Feb. I think brands do this to be first on the market, to get the consumer to buy in to their product, only at the end to be disappointed.

What atracted me was the suggested price. I love my Vipa, was looking at replacing with new one, their prices gone up sustantially and though, this sesta do not sound bad.

Demand issue, but prices is also going to be much higher than anticipated!

Issues with demand. Seems to be more popular than expected in Europe

Again, I feel SA should have been supplied first. Where is their loyalty to the nation that helped them build that company? I used to be a huge Silverback fan, because they made good bikes and offered them at great prices. Heck, our household still has two 2012 Storms. I cannot see myself buying another Silverback now that they are too "German" and stuck-up to remember the folks at home.
