Mixing components

I'm in need of a new drivetrain for the roadie. Currently the bike is 10sp campy record all round with a SRAM Force crank.

 

Are there any limitations on mixing component brands and levels?

 

Besides weight and price, what is the difference between entry level and top of the range for the chain, chainrings and casette?

You are welcome to mix anything with anything, as long as you promise that you will keep the Campagnolo with its own kind, for ever.

haha, yeah breaks my heart to mix. But my wallet struggles to keep up with campy.

You can't put a shimano cassette on a campy freehub and vice versa.

 

Also - shifters and mechs aren't compatible.

 

In short. Don't mix them

Fit Shimano, mix and match as you like between levels, never look back.

 

Love them or hate them, the Japs lead and the rest try to follow. Unsuccessfully.
