How would you react?

I will admit I hit the back/side panel of a taxi blocking the way at a 4-way intersection. Stupid! It was a tense minute as I made sure I got away quickly and kept looking back to see if he'd come after me. As many have pointed out it's just not worth it and the important thing is I'm alive.

Bloody hell...what a country we live in

Imagine slapping the side panel of a London Taxi in annoyance and afterwards considering yourself lucky to have escaped and still be alive to tell the tale....  :(

Or else you could always have poked your front wheel through the driver's side window a couple times showing your frustration, just make sure someone captures it on video... :whistling:

I really don't think its meant to be a competition. Point I tried to make is that cyclists are not only in danger in SA. We love to be the victims, but its a world-wide phenomenon.

Have you seen the number of bikes on the streets of London. It's astonishing. That there aren't more accidents involving cyclists there is a thing of wonder.

I have been involved in many, many incidents involving taxis here in this bustling, overpopulated, metropolitan hub we call Fourways.

Not a competition G, just pointing out the obvious.

A friend of mine got angry at a taxi driver and also smacked his mirrow while driving in his car and the taxi driver pulled out a gun and shot holes in his car. I've learned that they do not care for your anger and rage and they have this attitude they own the road and will do as they please no matter your reaction or action. Hard to do, but i feel it's safer to just ingore as best you can and not worth your time, anger or life.....except when you make your best time...hahaha....well done

Just heard on the radio that 5 people were killed this morning in a shoot out at a taxi rank between taxi owners on the East Rand. 100 meters from a kiddie school.

Think twice before losing your cool. These guys aren't just playing games.

I'll take a taxi any day before I have to deal with the Mommies at Kenridge dropping their bundles of joy off in the mornings. It seems like their brains fall out as soon as the kids are dropped off.

Theoretically what you did was good. Imagine that every single time they almost hit someone or cause dangerous situation, someone would smack their mirror off or breaks the window by throwing a full waterbottle to the car, they would become much more careful. If by the end of a regular day of riding their whole car is messed up and they can spend 10.000 Rand to a garage every single day to replace the broken stuff, all of them would become very careful drivers in less than 10 days.

But in reality, you being the only one doing it, and them being crazy dangerous people, it's best to stay calm and not risk anything.

This is the problem here.

Everyone talks, but no action.

If we all got together and started taking our roads back, there would not be any space for these fu#%$&s to own the road !
