St Lucia MTB trails

We did the Isimangaliso MTB stage race which ended in St Lucia a couple of weeks back. There are plenty of trails around but I wouldn't know if you require special permission to ride there.

I'm not sure if there are specific mtb trails as such but there are plenty spots to ride. Last time I was there I found some horse riding trails on the cape vidal side and no one complained about me riding them. But its literally just jeep track that is about a 1 out of 10 for technical. I used to frequent there and sodwana and did plenty riding but it was mainly all the local tar roads from resort to shops or beach. Maybe someone else can let you/us know of some lekker trails....

Not sure about trails but there's an adventure company that hires out bikes and other stuff. I think it's called Thompsons (if my memory is correct). They can surely point you in the right direction.

Does anyone know of some MTB trails in or around St Lucia. Going there for a week & want to know if it's worth taking the mountain bikes

Check Ezemvelo kzn website. Afaik there are some mtb trails in Cape Vidal Reserve....but also some serious wild game. Not sure if these are guided or not guided.

Years ago I rode down the beach from Kosi Mouth to Cape Vidal over a few days with friends......riding on the beach is viable at spring low tide but use an old bike. You might need to ask permission

There are a few walking trails which start at the entrance gate to Cape Vidal, altogether about 8km of paths through the bush, on both sides of the tar road. A bit sandy in places, but generally easy going. There is also a short trail through the bush around the Eden Park campsite. Just head out and explore a bit, very difficult to get lost... Also speak to the guy who runs Eurozulu, they share an office with Avis in town, he does quite a bit of riding round there, so may know of some other trails.

There are some single track trails near the ski boat club. Not much though. You can't ride in iSimangaliso though. Also some trails up near Monzi.

So the answer is not much, but best if you can get a local to help out.
