I watched the race clip on Supercycling and was wondering about the dropoffs/step downs in the storm water drains. I can only imagine that it must be full of algae and moss, so you will probably see a lot of scraps and cuts from the inevitable wipeouts. Will the route avoid this or is it just a case of ride with care and try stay upright?

.....mmmmm......considering the area, obstacles, infrastructure, muck, sludge and possibility for some scrapes and cuts.......tetanus shots needed

Spoke to the organizers and they are scrubbing the algae off with metal brushes and building ramps down the stairs to make it safer.
