I have a BB issue with my Trek, its inevitable but the frame needs to be replaced.

The word was that dealing with Trek agents in SA was an nightmare, 6-8 week delays and no one even knew if there was a Trek agent.

I did not have much hope and started looking into the insurance option.

Someone mentioned that a new agent had been appointed in SA.

On a Friday morning I emailed warranties at Dark Horse Trading, a few emails and documentation was provided, that afternoon I get an email to say the warranty is confirm, 4 days later an email to say my New Frame has left the USA and is in Transit to SA.

Yesterday an email to say my frame is on the way to my LBS for the refit. WOW.

I am seriously impressed, and will be Trekking for some time to come.

Very big thank you to Mona, Dark Horse Trading and Trek, it was an absolute pleasure, thank you.

I had a similar experience, although mine was not so smooth as Trek USA apparently did not understood that Cape Town is not in the UK where I originally bought my bike. After that all was smooth sailing.

That is very good news for a fellow Trek rider to hear. The lifetime warranty is a huge bonus in my view. Especially with carbon mountain bikes. Well done to Trek and the new agents.

I was looking at a SA designed frame recently and it looks superb but warranty is only 2 or 3 years. That is a major turnoff.

Cannondale have a lifetime warranty on the frame for the first owner too.

I own a Scalpel and have replaced it twice. Present the invoice and the next day I had a new frame.

That's quite a solid motivation to buy one new, frame is the normally the most expensive single item on a bike, is the lifetime warranty truly lifetime though, how many years do you reckon it'd be good for?

I mailed Mona and shaun got a reply with all the documentation and info they needed. I received a mail 2 hours later that they had a frame in stock for me (xl) had a new frame the next morning. Royalty sports took 5 months to do a claim
