My chain is falling off every time I drop into granny gear, can someone tell me where/how I adjust my front deraileur?  Pleeaase

Front deraileur: SRAM X-Gen

please respond in 'girl' talk.... i.e. you're welcome to use words like 'thingy' and 'gaftamagodey' Smile

There are two screws on top of the derailleur. The H stops it from going over the big ring and the L stops it going over the small. Adjust the L just so that the cage clears the chain when it's on the small.

Thanks guys, will try all of the above, so just to re-cap:

I will:

a)Make sure I turn the gaftamagodey with the thingy until it shifts down but not too far so it drops the chain of the chainring

b)Then I'll do what mampara just said & concetrate on the L screw , that should be the one closest to the small blade or more technically correctly the chainring

c)If I break it, I'll take it to the closest bike shop

Much appreciated

And now Nancy I would like to point you to one of the other threads where they discussed the cost of a bike service . Please note the hourly ( or part of) rate mentioned !

If all else fails, get Shimano - on FD's they are still the best.  Look at how many top riders on SRAM use Shimano FD's.
