Careful, you might spark a debate about the hub feels is a fair markup!

Let me point out that "at cost" means NO markup..... unless the markup is a black eye for a certain presenter/station....

You'll probably find that the picture/illustration/cartoon/depiction :) was put together by a cyclist (a frustrated and pissed off one).

As a cyclist I would rather put together a collage to make people aware of the dangers we face daily on our roads and would not make a joke about it. To make good of their oversight 94.7 should rather have another R94.7k competition for someone to create awareness by showing a picture of how cyclists and vehicles can share the roads and to show how vulnerable cyclists are on our roads when getting hit by drunken drivers, drivers using their mobile devices while driving, drivers speeding, etc, etc. Motorists are quick to point out cyclists riding two abreast or skipping red traffic lights, but they don't realize that cyclists don't have a cage to protect them and that the carnage on our roads are not caused by cyclists but by motorists.

This is only part of the carnage on our roads, many incidents out there does not even get reported in the news, but hopefully with social media tools more awareness will be created.

The station should donate advertising time worth R95k to bicyclingsafety. The driver offends me equally as much as the cyclist being hit. If this is the part of Jozie they want to highlight for a feelgood event their brand is sad.

Or host Wyatt for a talk session regularly..including his choice in music...although not sure Wyatt will want to do that

That's a chilling montage.

Is that.. what do you call it... sarcasm? You used sarcasm to make a point? Hmmm..I wonder where else that could be effective.

Your nails also feeling a bit dirty, like Nayr ?

Is this now the only way you can prove that all sarcasm is equal.

Man up and admit that the illustration was offensive.

In actual fact, only a few interpreted it as sarcastic, to me it was just plain offensive and even more a message with the creature (poor creator) saying "watch out cyclist, you will get what you deserve"

Digging deep I see.

No, if I was looking for something, there is lots you've said I disagree with, that was just pulling your leg bud... the beauty of all of this is we all have our different perspectives on an issue that we are all essentially on the same side with, I'll even go out with you with my pitchfork and find idiots that have no respect for cyclists...But look, I'm happy to go for round 3 on Friday if you want, lets just find a topic that is less sensitive ;)

Of course it was offensive to you. You're not wrong, that is my point. Your being offended is the sum of all your experiences and the interpretation of the intention of the person that created this photo illustration. My not being offended is the result of my interpretation of it. Neither of us is wrong to feel the way we feel about it because it is subjective. So I don't have to "man up"  (something that some feminists might find offensive. Quick! Boycott the Hub!) and admit anything.

I know I have to have 1000 posts before I can use the classifieds but how many do I have to have before I'm allowed to disagree with you?

I honestly believe, and take this anyway you want, that you are completely off the mark here and your statement lacks any sort of concrete evidence to support it -HOWEVER if you can prove your statement that would obviously change everyones perspective on the image and I'll gladly join you in forming a lynch-mob, but until then its purely speculative...

Oh and I don't understand the nails dirty reference? as to man up - I am, by having a 'healthy' debate with you, listening to your perspective and voicing mine.

Like your approach to calling it a satire , you have no concrete proof except for your interpretation, that is yours interp. and this is mine.

1 will be enough thank you.

The 1000 rule was made by another hubber, nothing to do with me.

What have you actually done to better the safety of cyclists in this country ?
