JUst an idea but it could be the angle of your foot as well take your bike to spuismuis and his clan, and have them set up your cleats ( they put in wedges, changes your feet angle to the pedal.

Might just have them look at the fit too if too big could also give the same effect

Yeah, sounds like you need a good lower back massage or perhaps some Body stress release. Cramps in feet are symptomatic of lower back stress. Moving cleats around can alleviate the stress for a short time but I suggest you get it seen to by a professional practioner or physio.

Sorry, I am not following you.  <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Do you have Spez shoes that are giving you problems?

I have the same problem, but with Diadora and Olimpic shoes.  The LBS?s said the problem is the small SPD cleat and that if you use road pedals it should improve, NOT.  I changed to road pedals and the problem persisted.  Some recommended the Specialized Body geometry shoes that you are having problems with.

perhaps I should try specialized and ask if there is a problem with these shoes

As far as I know all Specialized cycling shoes are built with a sole that is not flat (apparently their soles are designed to correct the average persons tendency to pronate - not the correct term Embarrassed). Perhaps you are one of the 10% who fall out of the average range.

Shimano soles are flat.

The Specialized shoes might not suite your foot.

I have 5 pairs of Specialized shoes and only one pair gave me problems. The cramp in my foot started about 5km into the ride and drove me nuts. I changed the inner of that one pair of shoes and it was gone.No pain or cramps.
