Wow, those guys are impressive.

Do they give the guys a specific bike, or is it a case of just getting going and we will bring you one in 5 minutes?

Such chaos!

They get the riders their spare bike..

This is mal.. the mechanics are sharp hey.. man crazy after crash scenes.

Anyone else think 'wow those new foils look damn sweet wonder when I can get my hand on one of those' while you we're watching that? No? Okay I felt bad thinking it while watching Gerro stagger about but.... Damn... those new foils look sweet.

The guy fractures his back - for the second time in a few months - then gets back on his bike and finishes the stage. The embodiment of the motto, "finish what you started". I'll stand up and give him a clap for that. Said it before, but won't tire of saying it again: legend. But TBH fairly typical of a pro bike rider (witness Ten Damme's dislocated shoulder as well). And then we have some clueless chop called Karl something on another thread making out that these guys are wimps like soccer players. Poor thing doesn't have the foggiest what HTFU truely means (and that it's a term that was invented by road racers). Bravo Cancellara, and heal up soon.

And hen just popped his shoulder back in.. and Impey finishing that stage with a broken collarbone.

Ja.. after seeing that after crash video.. you really go.. shees man.. you shouldn't even be walking let alone riding.

It must be terrible being a team doctor, when you have to break the news to these guys. Or when there is a borderline call, because you always know what side of the line they all sit on.

Contador, finishing a stage last year with a broken leg. That poor dutch kid that got bumped into the barbwire fence, the list goes on..

I have a new favourite english word: foggiest! It rolls nicely off my dutch tongue.

In that same 2011 TDF Laurens Ten Dam had a taste (literally) of some mountain road on a high speed descent. Bandaged himself up, got to the finish and 8 stitches in his face, then continued on to finish the Tour without complaint or fanfare. Just another day as a pro road racer. Toughest athletes in world sport, bar none.

Kinda like Berto last year hey! Anyway I hope Spartacus takes the rest of the year off and comes back next year and smokes everyone in the cobble classics! One helluva rider!
