Mtb shoes?

Hi everyone, the time has come and my toes have decided to grow and I am looking for a new pair of mtb shoes. I currently ride with 43 Specialized 2013 comp mtb shoes, which were very nice and very stiff for a 'plastic' sole. I have to decide between a few 44 sized shoes like:

Mavic Fury

Suplest

Specialized Xc pro

Diadora

I would like to have a carbon sole

I have a high-arch and my budget is about R1k - 3k max

I would appreciate any info regarding mtb shoes!

Cheers!

Semi hijack

I am also looking for new MTB shoes. Only problem is that it MUST have a low heel counter so there is absolutely no contact with my achilles tendon. I have long standing issues with those buggers, and even with inserts I cannot seem to get shoes that clears them.

I am willing to pay whatever it takes.

(I would love something with a bit of a rubber outer sole that would allow walking)

Suggestions?

Well those Mavic Fury's in your picture are R5k boet!

I ride Spez XC pro's. Have a pronated left foot so had to fit an (Spez) inner sole with high arch recently. You can get the XC pro for about R2800.

I do still like the Sidi's, next on my list.

so far so good.

My Sidi Dragons are looking a little rough, but 4 years on,looks are deceiving ^_^  they're still going strong!

I still use them every alternate weekend.

Spez have Shimano cleats

Sidi have Crank Bros

these get my vote, although you should go fit all your options.
