Ray, that would be awesome and much appreciated :) Requirement is for a 28.6mm diameter clamp with dual cable stops.

No worries, will try pop in on the way home today..

Some one mentioned it in a comment on this thread, but for some reason removed it... but what could be an option if the clamp can not be sourced or the welding/brazing option falls through, is the use of a seatpost clamp.

If I get one with enough 'meat' I could potentially drill two holes and run the cables through these.

Thoughts?

Could you not McGuyver something with an old front der where you cut off the "shifter part" and use the clamp somehow?

I probably could if there was enough 'meat' on the derailleur clamp, same principle really. If there is anyone in Gardens/Vredehoek that would like to donate a seatpost/derailleur clamp for this project, the donation would be much appreciated ;)

Thanks a lot :D

Do you know anything or have had any experience making up cable guides?

If I can get that done without taking the bicycle back to the shop, I would pay in beer to have this done in the comfort of my garage ;)

Sorry dude, checked at Soloped, but no luck.

Thanks Ray :)

Try Nils at Woodstock Cycleworks. Seems like something he would be able to help you with?

Had the bike at Nils, he did the other bits, but could not sort out the cable stops.

Hey all,

Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where I could pick up a double clamp-on frame cable stop in Cape Town?

I like a fool, ground off one of the cable stops on my commuter build, thinking I would never install a front derailleur on it...

Attached is a picture of the clamp-on frame cable stop I was thinking would best work, all other cable stops and guides are in tact currently.

I have also included a picture of the commuter too for those that are interested:)

Try Nils at Woodstock Cycleworks. If he doesn't have he might be able to point you in the right direction.

Edit : Snap Wolver

Nope, Nils has nothing that will fit the 28.6mm downtube. Bicycle was there already.

Sorry, nothing in the spares box!

Thanks for checking man :)

I have a mate that runs a car brake and service centre who has offered to make a screw-on cable stop for me. Will post some pictures when I have the thing made up and the bicycle cables routed.

Last resort, try Junior at JJ Engineering in Montague gardens. Sure he can machine one up for you. Probably not the cheapest option though.
