That would be great, would love to do this without having to let my wife wait in sub 5 degree temperatures for us to arrive at who knows what time in the middle of the night.

Having a support vehicle is not compulsory. My wife was going to be the support driver and her co-support has pulled out. So I have cancelled her as a support driver with Ecobound with no issues or queries. Also did not want her driving in the bundu's on her own at that time of night.

Riding a 32 10/42 (1x11) - I will be excellent at wheel sucking... Will do my share on the climbs though....

I'll do my share downhill

Hopefully all is not lost.........

After my (2 man team) partner pulled the plug (sick)....It would seem there might be light at the end of the tunnel. I believe one can take a member out of a (3 man team)(if they willing of course) to join you to make up a (2 man team) again. Will know by tomorrow evening............

Otherwise it is ticket for sale - sold with someone on standby waiting.

Eish, I hope for the former and not the latter.....

If you start the race with a driver and vehicle as your official back up then yes, they must clock in.If they don't there are time penalties.

So don't only enter riding team members.

Thanks, I'm going to try and contact the organizers themselves. Rather safe than sorry

Sorry, the price is R30 per mug. Thanks.

Please mail me a pic of the mugs. We are attempting the 2nd Baviaans. Regards.

Just a heads-up to anyone keen on doing Trans next year. Checked the Ecobound website to find out some more info on the Trans Draak and they have already set the date for Trans Baviaans (15/08/2015) but more importantly, entries open on 1 December already...

This year was sold out in late Jan / early Feb already when entries opened on 1 Jan. Might just be full before new year...

Entered, 405. The entries are not going to last long

Have lost 2015 (15 August event)Transbaviaans partner. Is there anyone out there interested in doing slow ride with me?

Hi Denis B - we entered a 4 man team and two members got injured so only 2 left. Depending on what time you're looking at you more than welcome to do a slow ride with us. Target anything from 16 to 18 hours if all goes VERY well.

Yes you can change from 3 man to 2 man team. We did it 2 yrs ago.

From the horse' s mouth Wil on their facebook page

You can most definitely do the race without a support vehicle! You would just need to plan your kit carefully as crates only go up to Checkpoint #4.

Thanks Dean, just got an email back from them confirming this. Great news for us
