A mate is asking me to join him.  Am I totally STUPID to even think we can do this?  I ride +-7hrs a week, have completed transbaviaans and all the major stage races in the country (ex Cape Epic / Joberg2C)

If you ride water point to water point, with the aim of enjoying the ride and not chasing time or places, you'll be fine.

You can actually split it in 2 questions

Can you do it on 7 hours a week training? - yes

Will you enjoy it? - .....

Last weekend for long training ride then it taper down for me. yippy I cant wait

Same here man.

Tell me please, what is your riding hours per week during the week before the race only.

Last year i went in with my legs still a bit stiff from the last weekends training.

I did finish the 36One but i think my legs could have been better rested.

Do you even ride in the last week, some people dont that i have spoken to.

BEST IDEA...dont think of it as 361km... rather think of it as:

180.5   :)

and

180.5   :)

Do you feel better now?

Now will you enjoy it?

SWART+ BERG = 12km 1100m Ascent doesnt matter who you are its a lung buster.

7 degrees lower down, 14 degrees higher up,some pro riders take over 2 hours to cover the final ascent in the Cape Pioneer Trek.... NICE

Rooiberg just seemed like it never ended.

Rooiberg put me into places where it was VERY dark, admittedly the heat played a major role.

who is actually training with a trainer here or has a training's plan?

working on a training plan based on the MTB'ers training bible.

Heading inland to visit family for easter and will do some "altitude training"

Last big ride will be 10 April, then just some low intensity rides in the last week.

last ride will be on Wednesday as we are travelling up on Thursday.
