Why did you guys not hang around until it cooled off? Was there not any entertainment that you could go to?

The Curro Event a few months back, I took the bike and cycled there and back. Was glad I did. Traffic was a mess there. At every event I have been to, be it running, cycling or what ever traffic is a mess. Even the one and only Rage Expo was a traffic mess. And the biggest mess? The 94.7 and the Argus comes to mind

Me thinks everyone hang around until they were cooled off, had enough refreshments and the show was over........and then all trying to leave together.

Yes there was entertainment, my daughter had a concert after the race, which I missed because I sat in a queue for an hour and a half because the idiots at Advendurance didn't have the foresight to a) have more than a one-lane exit b) tell the idiot security guards not to force every driver to switch off their car and re-start it.

And to whoever said 'then don't go to the events', you, sir, are an imbecile of light-year proportions.

You are absolutely right and that's why I did not do the event. I am sure they missed me!

If I found you at an event you could be sure I would buy you a beer and press you for stories!

Still waiting for your next instalment.

It seems a bit crazy for me the idea of sitting in what could be peak hour traffic on the weekend, surely thats the time regain your sanity after a week of sitting in it?

advendurance sends out emails post event asking for comments - use that forum to complain, instead of rubbishing them here for what is mostly awesome events

What rubbishing, I saw it more as a headsup.

Now at least i know what to expect, and it's not my idea of fun.

I did that after the mess at the Bundu Bash, but I am cynical as to whether they really pay an attention to it as evidenced by their very next race which is notorious for traffic issues. I have some unfortunate memories of this race as my wife had a bad fall on the last one we did and dislocated her elbow. I can't fault the medical attention but imagine my frustration trying to get out of complex and to the hospital to check on my wife, it took an hour that day and I behaved like an absolute pig in the traffic. I really hate the fact that poor organization forced me to do that, so given the choice I will avoid it.

There is a very easy solution to this.

Find a good safe parking spot, anything in a radius of 5km, and you ride in on your bicycle.

There is no traffic congestion, and you use this ride as a warm up for the event.

More people should heed the call to park at a distance and ride to the start, that way lazy a$$es like me can get premium parking right at the start.

Tried to park outside the school, but got told off by the Metro cop and got sent inside to the fields of doom.
