Dont crash...dont fall???? you guys do realise that 99% of the competitive DH circuit are all running carbon everything....your little jeep track is hardly going to make any difference.

Ive been riding with carbon bars for years without even a scratch...and yes..I have crashed

obviously if you hit something at a certain angle at a certain impact speed things will break...but its more the exception to the rule

Exactly.

Naysayers, have a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6APhKvaW6ig

Then also think about the fact that Renthal's Fatbar Carbon is one of *the* strongest bars in existence.

As with most things, don't be stupid and buy crap.

Can you imagine the pink frothy the United Kingdom would have had with Santa Cruz if that was in the UK..."what? no safety goggles while you try smash a carbon frame against a concrete block...you will be fined a million pounds"

I snapped my carbon bontrager handlebars. I have poster pics somewhere on another thread here on the Hub before.

Can you give us more info? How much do you weigh Milky? Also, what kind of riding were you doing when this happened?

70kg, ride all terrain, at the time of incident I jumped a doubled at G-Spot trails in Stellenbosch.

I found the carbon handlebar upgrade (Thomson) was actually stiffer than the alloy one it replaced.  Took a while for my wrists to get used to it and for the pain to settle down...
