Is the Midvaal 100 Classic run by different organisers to the Fast one?

Good question - I'll find out as our Rotarians are also working at the FastOne.

The championchip cost is R130 including the bike clip

I'm looking at doing this event but after my disasterous 94.7 and only seeding event I'm guaranteed of a late start. Grrr.

Note to self: Do not crash again.

What time did you (eventually) finish the 947 in?

I'm sure you'll be okay

We had our pre-ride for members (we work on the route on race day) today.

Most of the route is in fairly good condition, with a few hundred metres of uneven (tarred) surface just after the 16km mark (roadworks being the reason). Nothing that's dangerous but we'll advise cyclists to keep hands on the bars and leave the bottles in their cages. A lot of the R103 has newly tarred roads.

The Nigel road (R42) was hectically busy, and we're glad we've got reduced speed limits as well as a number of coal trucks off the road on race day.

Confitions today were tough, with head-on crosswinds for the last 35km or crosswinds on the section between 15km and 25km to go. Overcast conditions made it a bit more tolerable though. If race day has similar conditions, racing in the licensed categories will be really hard.

A good 172km in the legs at 32.5km/h, so it was a great day out.

I will reply by Wednesday morning - I will get all the details tomorrow night at our next meeting.

edit: it should be inside the Carnival City precinct, close to the hospitality area.

Sorry, I said Wednesday morning - it's now the afternoon  time flies when one is busy.

The race (read: casual ride inside Carnival City) starts at 09:00.

The event takes place in the taxi rank just behind the upper car park - see the map below.

Distance is unknown at this point and usually dictated by the little ones on the day - if they want to ride one lap, that's fine, if they want to break the 1-hour record that's also okay.

This Sundays Fast one?

We've received the 2014 results.

If we get Sunday's results in time then we'll use it.

The additional race is another one from 2014.

Mmm toss up between MTB group entry or road entry  :whistling:

You only have 19 days left to decide - no rush.

Just a reminder that (for many) Sunday/Monday is pay day  :D

I'm involved this year with the seeding process, and I must tell you that for the bulk of entries received so far there shouldn't be too many problems.

Considering today is Friday this one is for all the guys that bitch and moan that their seeding is wrong...

1. Being dyslexic is okay, but mixing digtis (ID number) and lettres (Nmae or Sruname) on an enrty form does pose a challenge when doing a lookup.

2. Using a nickname on one system and real name on another also makes it hard to lookup the correct Joe Soap, especially when he uses J Soap or JJ Soap.

3. The last one is for the ladies that change surname (usually when getting married) and don't update their profile. Last year it was Ms X and now it's Mrs Y or Mrs X-Y.

I'm not one for moaning, and the above info is really a bit of tongue and cheek just to give you a taste of what organisers must sift through to get the seeding done correctly.

So far, 31 errors from 676 entries of which 25 of them fell into 1/2/3 above.

Have an enjoyable Friday, and weekend.
