Vlei Park Or Thaba Trails - Which is more Technical

which of these is more technical, looking ofr a good ride to get some me time on the technical parts.

Thaba Trails is more technical, the green route is about the same as Rietvlei, the blue is MUCH more technical, everything is ridable though, even though it might not look like it is.

Thaba definitely, climb up along the two water towers, at the T turn RIGHT, that's where the fun stuff is-a bit of a climb to the top-tech on the way down.

Look for the sign saying "Wendells Way"

Do yourself a favour and try the blue sections off the green before you head up Wendells Way, if you have the energy left go for it.

 

The new blue stuff is a lot of fun and techy.. I'll be up there tomorrow and sunday getting my ass kicked.

Personally, I think Loop A and B can be more technical at times that Wendell's Way. Wendells is mostly one looooooong climb the top where the hotel is situated, then across the concrete path at the hotel, a little more HECTIC climbing and then the most kick @$$ downhill at Thaba which brings you back to the bottom of Two Towers.

Is that where there is the big rock on the downhill section is. Want to try loop a & b again now that I have a more capable bike,hoping not to walk half of it again. Last time was 6 months ago didn't enjoy it. But have added Lawrence and yafta to my normal green route to try improve my riding.

 

Keen to try both loops & Wendell's way...definitely on different days though me thinks .

Yep,that's where the big rock is, love that section. You have to be really fit to do both loops and Wendells on one ride. And it's all together only about 30km's... I think.

Wouldn't attempt both loops and Wendell's way. Think Wendell's way is in order nxt ride,green route, Lawrence ,yafta & Wendell's way. Damn will be proper knackered when I eventually finish :-))

Checked a guy go up there yesterday while I was waiting for my Mates at the top of twin towers...looks like a long old slog uphill as I watched him zig zag up the hill.. :-(( Really hope the down hill is worth the suffering ;-)
