Easton EA 50. No weight limit and super light.

Thnx... The ZTR range... They will handle 100kg? I see the rims at CWC for R950. Is that a good deal? Another question, Roval is what I got with my Spaz... Will the parts like the hub etc work with the ZTR's...?

Use ZTR Arch EX

Flow Ex I would say, espacially on a 29er, simular weight myself and went for them over arch - depends. on the type. of riding though

cant imagine why the hubs wouldn't work?

may need different length spokes though

what model of hub and rum is it - need the details...

Ek het die selfde vraag gevra so 2 dae terug. Ek weeg 125 :-)

Daar is voorgestel dat ek ZTR Flow ex kry. Dis blykbaar sterk!

Ek ry n giant anthem 2013 model met sy standaard wiele en hulle kom niks oor nie. Ek weeg 150kg.

all parts are what came with the bike except the hub which is Shimano SLX

There are multiple threads like this but here is advice from a fat boy (113kgs) who likes to get some air every now and then. I Ride Arch EX on Hope after having broken the Flows.

You can build any hub to any rim (almost) if you get a good wheel builder. Let him do the thinking. Pay extra for a good build and you will never worry again. Skew on the side of strength rather than weight saving.

Get the wheels properly built and use a rim that suits your riding style. I pretzeled an Arch quickly, thankfully the back and thankfully not on a big jump. You can ride a Flow if you are very conservative and unlikely to get big hits but you are over the rims weight limits (not sure what it is exactly but i think 90 to 95kgs - its on their site), if the wheel is well built.

Build a back wheel with strong spoking, get a good wheel builder and tell him what you want. Skinny small lightweight spokes with low tension on a wheel that takes big hits is going to cost you more in rebuilds and broken spokes and pretzeled rims eventually. And likely a hospital bill

I ride Arch EX. Never had a hassle. The weight difference all built with tyres and tubeless is negligible.

Remember some things:

If a front rim fails on landing you are going to have a big OTB incident that may hurt a lot.

Pick two - price, weight, strength. So lightweight with high strength will cost lots etc etc.

Only rich men can afford to buy twice, so buy the best you can first off and never go back.

I'm very noob, but aren't you confusing the old Flow with Arch Ex or Flow Ex

Arch Ex has a rider weight limit somewhere between 100-105kg, Flow Ex (the revised Flow) has no limit. I asked the same question a while back and read up on it. Flow Ex is definitely supposed to be the stronger rim?
