I've had the same Park Tool work stand now for over 12 years. Rock solid. Never had any issue. Still works the same as the day I bought it. And I'm willing to take a bet I'll say the same thing in 12 years time. Like most tools, technology doesn't really pay a part. So buy quality and buy once.

This. For anything tool related.

Nothing like a *** tool breaking on you the night before a race, or even worse breaking the part you're working on. Ends up costing you more than the money you saved at the end of the day.

NOOB mistake of note (Although I am sure we all still do it at times) .... working on your bike the night before a race!

I promise my self I will never do it again. Somehow, it still happens.

Did this once the night before Crater Cruise. Ended up over tightening the match maker bracket on my brakelever/shifter and breaking it. Road the ultra with my brake lever being held on with cable ties. Never made the same mistake again.

Here are some options that extend beyond the love of working on a bike.

Building your own bike repair stand.

I would be pretty stoked to see what you guys come up with.

Maybe this needs its own thread.

Anyhow I will be looking into some home made ideas my self.

Although I am a terrible handman and Im quite lazy  :whistling:
