But I see my boys t the back are averaging 14kph since leaving Sutherland which is spot on what they need to finish before 12h00 tomorrow. If they keep this up they can slip in a 4 hour recovery either at Tankwa or RV5. I would go for the latter but it's quite easy for me from the couch with a beer in my hand .

Slowbee Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Wessel van dyk is on his way to Lainsberg - shucks he will be gutted, he will never come back onto the course in time to make the cut off - and he must be running out of water - this type of detour could be VERY serious in terms of rider safety, especially if he runs out of water!!

Really tough to have to give up after doing 80% of the race.

On his way there in a vehicle at that speed.

I am rooting for WD as I see he has similar index to mine although 10 years my junior. If he can make it then perhaps I have a chance too! Ag I'm just dreaming or maybe it's the beer!

River Rat Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 SVH and PVDL went on a 3 km walkabout only 6km from RV5. I guess the question now is do they rest up until dark or push through to the finish, my money is on the former. SVH stayed in Sutherland all day yesterday leaving after sun set. She's been going almost non stop for 20 hours with only a small nap at Tankwa.

Umm whats an index?Go to www.saseeding.co.za looking under seeding search and you'll get their past performances crystallized into an index number, the lower it is the faster you are. So WD has an index of 51.which is about mid field in a marathon race. Only know the van Dyk family owners of Afrit Trailers don't know Wessel personally but I see Afrit is his sponsor.

Boom!That's a phenomenal performance considering he joined HS on her +-140km walkabout, a really strong mindset required to keep going after that .
