Ouch!!!

Definitely beyond my reach, or what I would be willing to pay.

I hate to see what Enves are going to be now.

Correction:

The 29" marathon rims are R6800

The 27.5" trail rims are R7200

Advice people:

Up until now it was Flow Ex or WTB i25.

Now this has come up: Easton ARC 30. Just a little worried that it is going to slow things down up hill?

My Dabomb Advance rims are 30mm int and I have more grip going up hill and insane grip going down. Don't worry be happy.

Does not make sense some of the pricing of carbon rims when LB can do it for that price.

Like Enve at R15k per rim?

Nothing wrong with LB. You as the customer take on the risk and admin with warranties etc. If you aren't prepared to do that you buy one of the branded carbon rims like CSixx or Pyga or South Industries.

LB has a great warranty system. But I guess it is a lot easier swapping rims out in the country. R15000 per rim? That's nuts.

True that, South industries are damn nice.

The South Industries aren't as stiff as the Pyga or CSixx and they do cost more. Jason has ridden all three. Some of the spoke hole drilling was a little messy. You also have to build them with copper washers (supplied by SI) over the spoke holes to increase the pull through tension which adds weight. But the good thing about these guys is that they are here in SA and are still developing the product and will in all likelihood iron out all the issues.

We have a set built onto Hope hubs (they were on the Pink Pyga in that "Where we ride" Spruit video) - might sell them at a good price one day...
