Liv Lust or Specialized Rumor

Hello Ladies,

is there anybody out there that has above mentioned bikes and can share their experiences?

Also, as a newcomer to MTB (but not cycling as such) I wonder if one should really ponder that much between a 27.5 or a 29 bike? Am I right in assuming it is the overall comfort of a bike that should count?

Specialized has a BIG focus on women - in fact, it's their primary focus for 2014.

their ladies gear is awesome (as per my missus)

cannot comment on the bike, tho. never even seen one.

My wife recently considered getting a Spez Rumor, as she currently has a Stumpjumper HT.

Let me tell you, those Rumor's are bloody good bikes - they're the female versions of the Camber. So the geometry is quite relaxed, they handle the rough stuff exceptionally well and are great cruisers.

And unlike some other manufacturers, the Rumor's are just mens' bikes in small sizes. They have nice low standover height, lady specific components and pretty cool paintjobs.

Friend of mine just got a Spez Rumor 2014, beautiful smoke grey colour not the typical Spez colour. Trail bike but quite light and comes with a good spec and dropper post as standard. Don't know how they stack up on price or which model of Giant you are looking at but I know the Spez is quite steep!

A big difference between these two bikes are also wheel size, with the Spez being 29er only and the Giant 650B.

Don't let anyone tell you you can ride a 29er because of your height (unless you're really, really short), because my wife is 1.68m and does fine on her 29er, which is a small frame.

My 'boss' also rides a small 29er and loves it!

my wife has just got the 2015 Liv Lust 2 27.5 and it is one awesome bike. She tried the rumor , but having been on a 26 inch wheeled bike for a long while found the 29er too big and was more comfortable on the 27.5.

She rode both and found the Lust more comfortable for her riding style.

My wife rides the Scott Contessa 27.5. Remote control shock and fork means she doesn't have to take her hands off the bars. The 110mm travel is also more forgiving. She is very happy with the bike

I LOVE my Rumor!! And I'm only 1.58m tall (short?)????

The big question is. When it's really steep and you realise halfway down you cannot do this, can you get off the bike behind the seat without getting stuck on the wheel. Just something to consider. I have seen many people trying to stop on a steep down, only to be flung over the bars cos they cannot keep their balance. Go for the smaller wheels. They are much more fun too.

NO NO NO NOT ANOTHER SPECIALIZED PLEASE! RATHER GO FOR THE LIV LUST WHATEVER THAT IS! I`ll rather ride a broom than a Spaz bike!

Just try the bikes. Maybe even get your bike fit measurements as that may also determine if there's a problem with the geometry on one or the other. My KTM has a much shorter top bar than my previous Merida and is a much better fit for me, although both are same size frames.
