Swellendam Trails to ride??

Hi Hubbers

 

will be n Swellendam on holiday for a week can anybody advise or have details of trails rides/tracks in Swellendam that me and the wife can ride

Dont know about ST stuff, but I rode in bontebok nature reserve, very scenic, on jeep track, no climbs, plenty of bontebok and zebras to see. so ideal for a nice chat and ride. Take a pack with coffee/biscuits etc and enjoy the view of the river from a viewing deck.

There is some good riding in marloth nature reserve. Easy to find, follow the sign off main road. Enjoy!

Marloth is mostly jeep track. Nice hills, but quite boring. However, Swellendam has so much single track potential. Somebody should really do something about that!

I am sure that if someone who lived there approached the authorities with a proposal there is enough space to run mtb trails all around that mountain without encroaching on the hiking trail

Great! Some single track in Marloth and on those farms at the back... If you build it, they will come

I have done every permutation of the hiking trail and love that mountain

Imagine sleeping at the overnight huts on a two or three day trail.Overnight at Nooigedacht would be cool in winter

Hello Wepat, look at the website shown in the Swellendam Tourism post or post where and when you want to ride in the Swellendam Fietsry group, most of the cyclists are on vacation or supposed to work, but I am sure we can help you out
