I have ridden an Epic briefly but found it too rigid for my style of riding. I also found the Brain clicking on and off irritating.

I bought the 2014 Camber Expert EVO, swopped out the Formula Italy brakes for Shimano XT brakes, 203mm front and 180mm rear.

I also swopped out the 60mm stem for a Renthal 50mm which transforms the steering. Bars are carbon Easton 750mm with 15mm rise.

With the standard Spesh tyres, the bike will tackle any trail u care to throw at but at the expense of feeling a little sluggish off the mark. Lighter rims will resolve this.

I fitted Schwalbe Racing Ralph tyres (100 grams lighter/tyre, front not the best choice for grip) and this put a lot of snap back into the bike reinforcing the theory that lighter rims would transform the bike.

So to answer your question, if you do a lot of x-country dirt roads, the EPIC might be suited but if you want an awesome dual purpose bike that leans towards trail riding, the Camber EVO is hard to beat. It also makes an awesome downhill bike considering it only has 120mm travel.

Just fit a lighter set of rims like the Stan's Flows.

Note: 2015 Cambers are effectively all EVO spec.

Yip. 2015 Cambers are all evo spec, running wide 29mm rims and 1x11 (except base model).  There are also 27.5/650b models.

That's a BEAUTIFUL bike, btw!
