It's at the top of the trail head, man. That's where we all pray to the trail fairies and gods of olde..

Checks out. We meet there on a Sunday after all.

Yip, where all the rad chaps hang.

You must seriously get to Jozi sometime so I can go and show you how "hardcore" these okes are .

It's quite entertaining .

Hehehe, I was really just kidding

I get your opening post and understand the frustration.

I just fear that I might have done the same as the old toppie not knowing the trail and not seeing any markings.

For him to carry on like a palooka, well that seems to be the name of the game in the world of MTB at the moment, that my friend is why I avoid most of the controlled trails .

Oh, absolutely. I get you 100%. If you'd been a noob on the scene though, you'd have said so (oh, I don't know these trails etc etc) instead of just flying off on an insta-rant and saying who are you, you're 57 (yes, I know you're 78 next year ;-) ) and you've been riding here for X years and aren't afraid of us.

Signage IS key. Unfortunately it was only just (yesterday) put back in to place, and it needs to be continually monitored by all that ride there to see if something happens to it (like last time)

Now that it's back, there's a bit more legitimacy in place, and we can just point and shake our heads disapprovingly, while blocking the path (if possible)

I hear so, but then I'm sure it'll be entertaining if I do it as well. I mean, I only have one bike, and it *is* kind of overkill for pretty much all our trails, except the dinkum DH trails.

Please don't interpret my comments as being sarcastic. I support your vision for the uphill downhilling scene. You're a maverick, a salmon swimming against the current of popular opinion, common sense and the direction of the trail. And as you climb those courses and people shout things at you, like "HOLY **** GET OUT THE WAAAAAY!" I want you to know that as long as you believe in yourself then I believe in you. The same way you believe in me. Because when you told me that I remind you of an album by an ageing rock flutist that I had to google because I'm three generations too young for your references the title I found was called Rupi's Dance. I don't know what kind of dance it is but it sounds fabulous and I'm not going to disappoint you. I will learn that Rupi's dance for you!

funniest thing I read all year... thanks.

Thanks I couldn't figure out why he was writing like that but Star Trek was before my time too I guess.

If you think Yoda is from Star Trek you have bigger issues on hand than this thread.

Signage is definitely the key.

ja, but today would have been far better (well, fun, and less work) on a bike with, say, 170mm less squish at the back, and 100mm less at the front (hardtail jump bike with 80mm fork)

Geez that GoPro still burning your ass hey? I got one lying around, I'll sponsor it if you lighten up a bit? It that possible?

Nope... after the PM to tell me to "shove your GoPro where the sun don't shine" I suspect you're not going to lighten up, are you Wyatt? That's ok man. Ride your bike this weekend, it does wonders for when you're not feeling so lekker.

Take a joke man, it's Friday
