keep dreaming bud -you did. My agenda is that I require good service and at least a bit of 'it is not our fault, but we sympathise' -some agenda huh? Dude, I feel like you are spoiling, perhaps when you spend that kind of cash on a pair of shoes that fail on their second use you might have a different opinion on this.

Dips, I'm as much at a loss about that sentence as you are.

To the OP, please show me where I implied you are a liar. Odd that you take offence when you perceive someone else to have put words in your mouth, but you're doing the same with my posts. I never called you a liar, nor implied that you are one, yet as you make the untrue assertion that I did, I'll say you are lying in that regard. (Note: I said you were lying; I didn't call you a liar - thanks Gerrie Nel.)

If you're so confident that the shoe was defective, how about some pics to back it up? I never disputed that the shoe was defective; I simply asserted the right to have it assessed.

Strange too how your "least" expectation has changed from your initial post.

When did I say that the lbs KNEW that the shoes were defective? I did not state that. I clearly stated that they presented as defective when upon their second use the strap on the one shoe failed. For something to be defective it does not have to be immediately obvious.

Some 'big hole' eh?

"The product was clearly and blatantly defective "...

This implies that it would be visibly defective from the onset. Are you now changing your tune?

And this is why Spez owners have the reputation for being douchebags.

Blatantly clear that they have an elevated opinion of themselves as consumers.

Dude, like I said, trolling..

What astonishes me is that despite his 49266 posts nobody had identified Tumbleweed as a troll until PMS wanepoel pointed it out for us in one of his very first posts.

How did we ever live without this insight?

Newness is not a problem.

This kind of first post thread is like walking into a (slightly rof) pub for the first time and, before ordering a dop, shooting your mouth off.

Insulting the venerable regular in the corner who offers an answer to his question seldom turns out well.

Venerable? Shucks

I guess the OP was lucky that the sales assistant didn't tell him to get the f&$k out of his shop, judging by the way he addresses the community here on theHub.

I had missed this.

Look, any one who grabs the handle "Ph.D" is probably a chop and the kind of guy who wishes to impress the online community with his intellect.

If this was a real pub he would have called himself BREKER and announced his entry with the words "ok manne, ek is hier. Nou kan die party begin. Waar is die cherries "

Geesh people. Just saw the comments that kept going long after the issue was resolved. Nice bunch you are. I was simply asking for advice and thoughts (see OP). Glad you had fun with it though.. nothing like a few insults and barbed comments to get people feeling awesome!

In case you were wondering, the LBS sent the shoes away and gave me a new pair eventually, which is the bare minimum action that they should have taken. In my opinion, 'bare minimum' doesn't cut it.. but (clearly) that is just me...
