Spank Spike / Spoon hub Owners - Help!

To all you owners of Spank Race 28s and Spank Spoon Hubs I need your help!

I recently bought a set of Race 28s with spoon hubs from a great guy on the Hub. The Wheels came with the 135 and the 142 (?) thru axle adaptors for the rear hub but not anything to make a QR happen.

I did check the site and it does say for the Spike Wheels set "QR adaptor kit is included" so I was thinking that it shouldn't be a problem.

So I rang International Trade, the importers of Spank, and to be honest despite a lot of calls and repeated explaining they have only managed to send the axle that I have (without any QR convertors), a set of end caps for an Oozy hub that will not fix onto anything and suggested maybe a shimano axle 'might work'.

If you are running QR on a set of Spanks or with any Spoon hub can you post a photo so I know what I'm looking for or just to let me know I'm not being crazy trying to run these as a QR set up!

These are the current things I have.

I'm pretty sure I'm not going crazy!

I recently bought a pair of qr adapters from Kiwi. You're welcome to try them out to see if they fit. Pm your details and we can meet somewhere

Thanks so much, I'll mail Kiwi and see what he thinks. It'd be great to see if they fit but I'm guessing I need a full axel and end cap combo to fit into the exising kit.

I've got a set of Pro-lite Aneto wheels (bought from Rush Sports in PMB who does not import the wheels any more). My wheels have exactly the same rear axle arrangement. The wheels came with extra axles for 142x12mm TA, 135x12mm TA and 135x10mm QR. I'm using the QR at the moment, but you may be able to try the Rush SPorts guys to see if they can help you find a similar axle. You can PM me if you want to see if my 142x12mm TA axle is exactly the same as yours.

I have owned a set of these wheels. Mine had all the different converters with it.

I found this image & although it doesn't show the cassette side fulle it is the disc side that is important.

When you remove the 12mm axle you'll see what I mean.

As mentioned by NFNF Jason at TrailHead is your best bet if you can't get the right converters from International Trade.

Thanks for that, I'm going to see what Jason has to say and see if we can make a plan. I reckon I'll need a different axle so the QR end caps can fit both sides (?)
