Rick Sanchez Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I want to clear coat my carbon fiber frame. Has anyone done this before and what did you use to do so? Any help would be appreciated.
Broker Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Yes can be done. Don't use the spray cans that hardware and paint shops sell. Do it with 2K and make sure you prep the frame properly before you spray.

Rider3000 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Take it to a spray painter (reputable) and ask that they spray it for you to make sure. Far as i know raw carbon needs to be sealed properly and shouldnt get water on it as it will damage the fibers.

The resin is still in tact
Don Sol Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Absolutely. Any panel shop can do it. Just give them a nice clean frame. Only use 2 part quality paint. Anything else will fade and crack. Best bet panel shop, they use good automotive paint all day.
