Did you guys leave a bit earlier than normal?They made a decision to not go on with the ride as the wind was hectic at the starting point. One can make the assumption that it will be 3 x stronger on the other side of the mountain. I left soon after that. Pity .... was looking forward to the ride. But definitely under better weather conditions.
T-Bob Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 The winds wasn't at all bad from Camps through to S/town today. I thought it was going to be killer like it was in the Southern 'burbs. Was quite nice to get a little bit of natures helping hand up some of the hills!

Bankie99 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 We ended up being around 12 - 13 guys that did the ride despite the weather not looking great. Jakkels and Ramster joined with about 10 of my buddies and the wind was actually not that bad as expected. We had a pretty chilled ride as we stuck to 1 big group and i think our avg speed was 24km/h. We had 2 ladies with us and 2 mtb'ers as well but everyone had a great ride after all. I really hope we get a lot more guys pitching up this coming saturday and we need to define exactly where n the parking lot we gonna meet.

About halfway on my way home I started to have second doubts and wondered whether it would have been so bad. But at that moment with the wind howling and the rain I got on my way there. I thought it was the best decision and must be honest did not even try to convince anyone otherwise.
Wannabe Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 As I said in a previous post, I won't be doing the ride this Saturday. Doing the Argus Mtb race the Sunday. (and prelimanary predictions is for another scorcher of a day) Best is to meet at the first parking bay to the left of the gate, as you go out and facing the Park / Gardens. Enjoy it guys, bit peeved as I'm now only got to do one training ride, instead of my customery three.
