dev null Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 My boy will doing it in the Youth Men (YM) cat. I, sadly, am way to useless to do XCO. I just won't be able to handle the pace and will be toast after just 2 laps. BTW, I am thinking to go there on Friday afternoon to enter him, and for him to recce the route.

Rydogg Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 Based on the Rhebokskloof trails, I think the route will run clockwise on the map above. The trails there aren't that technical, but I am not sure what they have done to them for this event. But they are usually ridable with chicken runs around the tech sections.

dev null Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Will be there also for my boy. We went through for registration today. The traffic was a biiitch. Took my close to 2 hours from Strand to Rhebokskloof. My son and his mate did a recce of the track. He loves it, but says some of the switchbacks are quite sandy.
dev null Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Anybody know where we can get the results? My boy had a very good race over the first 2 laps. On the 3rd lap his bike's rear wheel came out, causing him to fall. Luckily only a small fall. His one shifter fell off later on in the lap. We had to tape the shifter back to the handlebar once he got to the tech zone and he had to finish off the race like that. Lots of other boys had technicals causing them to abandon.
