If I remember correctly, they said Sagan was checking out all his opposition and sat up because he knew he could out sprint them all.
tombeej Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 For the last 23km Kristoff had the best seat in the house: Paolini's back wheel.
Pure Savage Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 No Ettix or Skyborgs in top 10 as far as I could see. 10th for EBHMTNQ deliver another good result.Ciolek was furious on crashing on the Poggio descent.Sky stamped themselves all over the race. Result does not give it justice! Luke Rowe and Geraint Thomas showed some real grit today. Thought Matthews may have had been able to sneak past. Kristoff went from like 700m out
T-Bob Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 Paolini was an animal all day. Still would like to see him pick up another major win for the bearded masses esp because he is a rare italian rider who likes a bit of mongrel classic action. One thing I keep going back to is GVA. He's always there, he looks strong and always looks to be on the cusp of hammering a big win and each and every time manages to miss out on the top step. Question is does he make bad decisions? is heavily marked (a la Sagan)? Is tactially all over the place or simply doesn't have enough grunt to fly solo or enough kick to beat the likes of Sagan, 'kob and the other 'classics' type men? If the last point is actually true then does that just make him a super domestique like alot of the sky team rather than a true leader?
T-Bob Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 ohhh... wonder how happy Tinkoff was with 4th. Wonder if we'll start getting some twitter training advice like he did with contador.

T-Bob Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 Sagan wonders if the rest of the peloton will tease him for holding a press conference to show off his fancy new paint job... then remembers Nacer Bouhanni and everything is okay. http://cdn.media.cyclingnews.com/2015/03/22/2/bettiniphoto_0202501_1_full_670.jpg
Bianchisti Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Anybody that can get out of the saddle to sprint after 293 kms in wet and col conditions - chapeau! In the simple telling of it, 'n Donnerse Yster!!!

Ligget is the worst.

T-Bob Posted March 23, 2015 Author Posted March 23, 2015 Next up :: Wednesday :: Dwars Door Vlaanderen Terpstra has won it twice, Quintana is getting some cobble experience pre tour. Not alot of massive stars at this one but I'd say MTN have this one firmly circled as a 'win' for the season: - EBH- Ciolek- Bos- Farrar- Goss- Dougall- Van Rensburg- Van Zyl
tombeej Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Yip, that's on Wednesday and then we have E3 Harelbeke on Friday . Sagan is defending champ
Cav' Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 E3 Harelbeke is a great race. With a lot of big strong men competing (that's why Volta Ciclista a Catalunya's startlist is filled with climbers) Pretty sure the top 5 will feature: Sagan,Degenkolb, Spartacus, Kristoff and either Stybar or ebh..
Cav' Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Riders to Watchhttp://www.procyclingstats.com/uploads/uploads00004/thumbs/John_Degenkolb_2015.jpgWinner at MSR and now offically part of the elite one day riders after his break out year in 2014, will he be wanting more or still have a MSR hangoverhttp://www.procyclingstats.com/uploads/uploads00001/thumbs/Alexander-Kristoff-2015.jpegWill be still hurting from MSR and the General/hardman Paolini will already be planning the next assaulthttp://www.procyclingstats.com/uploads/uploads00004/thumbs/Fabian_Cancellara_2015.jpgThe old Dog will he have his day in the sun again or just be the legend still riding and missing that last 5%http://www.procyclingstats.com/uploads/uploads00001/thumbs/Peter-Sagan-2015.jpgOleg will not be happy after the mess of MSR, but Sagan has won here before and the team better suited to protect ther Capt. should be a better race http://www.procyclingstats.com/uploads/uploads00001/thumbs/Zden283k-stybar-2015.jpgCrashed in MSR but without Boonen and Cav should be the protected rider with Niki, but Zdeněk Štybar is a crowd fav so get the stars here http://www.procyclingstats.com/riders/2014/thumbs/Edvald-Boasson-Hagen-2015.jpgShowing real signs of form, still a deer in headlights at the business end of races, but just needs it to click to forget the memory of Skyhttp://www.procyclingstats.com/uploads/uploads00004/thumbs/Sep_Vanmarcke_2015.jpgWas noted that It seemed odd Sep was not on the start list of MSR, be he tends to pick the races he wants and go hard at them, a bit of luck and he might make another step up the ladderhttp://www.procyclingstats.com/uploads/uploads00001/thumbs/Greg-Van-Avermaet-2015.jpgSimilar Hit and Miss MSR for GVA as 2014 so from here we get to see if he can finally win a big one day race.
