Chris NewbyFraser Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 We mountain bikers are in fast company. The 9 times world rally champ (Citroen driver), Sebastien Loeb, is a keen mtb'er. He lost a world title when he broke his collar bone riding mtb and could not drive for two rallies. The current world champ, Sebastien Ogier (VW driver) is also a rider.Dani Sordo (Hyundai) is not able to compete in the current Rally of Sweden because he broke two ribs riding mtb last week.Geniel de Villiers, the famous Cape based Dakar driver, is very hot on mtb, as are a number of SA's cross country racing and special stage rally drivers Rally drivers, generally, use mtb as part of their physical training regimen because it is the closest form of physical workout to their driving sport. Of course, we know of that extraordinary French F1 driver who has ridden two Epics - can't think of his name at the mo.Mark Webber, former F1 driver is keen on both road and mtb, as well as adventure sports. Anybody know of other motorsport people who do mtb or road?

He is handy on and off track behind the wheel. Once I've increased my average speed slightly I am going to ask him if I can join his regular early morning Tuesday ride...He rides right past my front gate most weeks!
