I have SWAT and I've used it, once (don't ask....).  It works VERY well.  The oke went down, HARD!  It's probably the closest I've ever come to getting some good old CS into/onto the body (once again, don't ask....).

Some advice, when sprayed with CS, please note CS (by accident, while defending yourself, while toi-toing or as a sick joke) DO NOT USE WATER ON YOUR EYES.  Dit brand befok!!!!  Rather get away from the area (please note, the AREA as CS attaches to dust particles) and turn your face towards the sun.  If it's at night, your stuffed!

Hah! I voted for her last time, and boy has she let me down! And I have two kids, maintaining a belief in teeth fairies and sandy clauses is part of the territoryBig%20smile.

I understand that a lot of politics is blah blah fishpaste, I didn't sleep through every Political Science class at varsity, but JZ is the first leader since PW Botha I reckon to actually have something encouraging to say on this issue...

you don't need sights on that thing. Considering its size, You will be using at almost point blank range.

I much prefer this one Thug.  The .44 has GREAT stopping power, but the weight is ouch.  O ja, and with 5 up, not nice.  I'll just throw lead in the general direction with this one.

Or if I want to train with an extra 12kg's this one will do the trick:

Ewep, I've always enjoyed the Glock but have never thought that for the amount of shooting I do, the cost is justified.

Got my .44 at a very good price some 12 odd years ago and KF, yep, doesn't need adjustable sights but I ain't going to take them off :-)

Having any kind of weapon around with the intention to use it makes me very unhappy in myself so I'm stuck making defensive moves only - gates, fences and running away.

Had a friend in Malawi bought an AK47 for US$30 and put it in a cupboard.  Had to get rid of it within a month as it made him so uncomfortable just knowing it was there.

I can understand that this is a society very used to weapons, but it comes at a cost to the general atmosphere.

I agree to a certain extent JL.

Mine has been sitting in my safe for the past 8 odd years. When it comes time to renew my licence, I'm going to hand it over but will make sure that it has a bent barrel beforehand and that the firing pin has been filed down.

Thug, the pricing for Glocks are exhobirant (sp??), but you get what you pay for.  Comfortable, small and VERY easy to shoot.  As for a .44, would love one, but according to SAPS I'm not fit to carry a weapon as I was deployed in the townships in the old SADF.  This makes me a danger as I might, according to them, "relive some of the deeds purpotrated while deployed".

JL, I don't quite agree with your statement on the "general atmosphere".  I grew up with firearms in the house, and I found that being raised with the pros and cons in mind and the safety first that having a firearm around the house gave me more peace of mind.  BUT you have to be "taught" how and WHEN to use a firearm!!!

Thug, I had mine f-ed up by a gunsmith after my run-in with the licensing guys.

As for having the gun in a safe, yes, during the day, but at night I was a "paraat troep" (a wide awake troop) and my 9mm was next to my bed, within hands reach.  Up to today I thank the Father above that I never had to use it though.
