Rethreading crank arm

On the weekend I kind of forgot to check my pedals were screwed in properly. So after some riding I completely trashed the inside thread of my crank arm... I really love my crank and don't want to see it go. So was wondering if a shop could perhaps retap the thread?

Had same problem caused by poor workmanship at bike shop ... thread stripped totally.

As suggested previously, the solution was to have an insert with a thicker thread on the inside of the crank axle and a thicker matching bolt manufactured.

This solution was facilitated by Hubber "ROSHAMBO" through an engineering contact.

The end result was incredibly strong ... probably stronger than the original.

Give him a shout, he is based in Edenvale and may be able to arrange the same for you.
