I am also looking for a trail bike to complement my Giant Anthem 26er. My original budget was under 30K which pretty much just leaves the Trance, but I am beginning to find reasons wait and save a bit to stretch it to <40K to open more options like the Trance SX, Reign and Specialised comp 29ers...

New one's retail at R37k so assuming a decent 10% discount, you can add on a dropper and better brakes for under R40k. The Pike and Roval Fatty rims are pretty much spot on so you won't need another upgrade soon. Plus there are actually quite a few shock upgrade options for the Enduro should you want to eventually go that far.

Any other good frame options in the 140~120mm travel range beside the PYGA Onetwenty650 and the Transition Scout I should look at?

I'm selling my giant trance 2014 (matt black) medium frame if you interested in building it up. Converted to normal steerer so you can stick any fork you want on it.
